INSTRUCTIONS: KANSAS PERSONAL PROPERTY ASSESSMENT FORM (Form PV-PP-1A)
Every Kansas resident who possesses tangible personal property must annually file a form PV-PP-1A with their municipality's appraiser. This form can be found on the website of the Kansas Department of Revenue.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 1: Enter the tax year for which you are filing at the top of the page.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 2: Give your county, the mailing address of the appraiser, and your city, zip code and phone number, including the area code.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 3: Give your county account number.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 4: Enter the location of your property if different from your mailing address.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 5: Enter the name of the owner. If the name of the taxpayer is different, enter that as well.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 6: Enter the mailing address and phone number. If you are filing as a business, enter its name, the type, and date on which it began acting in the county.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 7: Check one of the two boxes which applies and sign and date the first page.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 8: Continue to page three. Begin by completing Schedule 1 if you have any mobile homes used for residential housing.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 9: Schedule 4 should be completed if you have any motor vehicles designed for road use.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 10: Schedule 5A should be completed if you have any commercial or industrial machinery and equipment bought before July 1, 2006.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 11: Schedule 5B should be completed if you have any digital radio machinery and equipment bought before July 1, 2006.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 12: Schedule 6 documents other personal property not listed elsewhere, including boats, marine vehicles, trailers, campers, off road vehicles, aircraft and non-commercial beds on chassis trucks.
Kansas Personal Property Assessment Form PV-PP-1A Step 13: Schedule 7 should be completed if your business has in your possession taxable personal property which is owned by another entity or individual.
