INSTRUCTIONS: NEBRASKA WITHHOLDING RETURN (Form 941N)
If you have a Nebraska office in which you pay wages, make payments to nonresidents performing personal services in the state, or otherwise meet the qualifications listed in form 941N, you should file this document to document income taxes withheld from wages.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 1: Enter your Nebraska ID number, reporting period and the due date for this return.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 2: Enter your name and location address. If different, enter your name and mailing address on the right.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 3: Check the box where indicated if you no longer make payments subject to Nebraska withholding.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 4: On line 1, enter the sum of all Nebraska wages, tips and other compensation paid subject to Nebraska withholding.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 5: On line 2, enter the amount of Nebraska income tax withheld from these wages.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 6: On line 3, enter any adjustments of income tax withheld for preceding quarters of the calendar year. Add or subtract this to line 2 as appropriate and enter the sum or difference on line 4.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 7: On line 5, enter any applicable Nebraska incentive withholding credits you are claiming.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 8: Subtract line 5 from line 4. Enter the resulting difference on line 6.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 9: Enter your first monthly deposit on line 7 and your second monthly deposit on line 8.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 10: Subtract the sum of lines 7 and 8 from line 6. Enter the resulting difference on line 9.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 11: If you are filing late, complete lines 10 and 11 to calculate your penalty and interest due.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 12: On line 12, enter your previous balance with payments received through your specified date.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 13: Add lines 9 through 12. Enter the resulting balance due on line 13.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 14: An authorized taxpayer should sign and date the form, as well as providing their title, email address and daytime telephone number.
Nebraska Withholding Return 941N Step 15: Any paid preparer should sign and date the form, give their address and telephone number, and give their PTIN number.
