INSTRUCTIONS: KANSAS CERTIFICATION OF RENT PAID 2011 (Schedule RNT)
Kansas residents filing a form 40H seeking a property tax exemption for rent payments they made will be required to include a Schedule RNT form along with their application. This article discusses the version of this form made available for 2011. This document can be found on the website of the Kansas Department of Revenue.
Kansas Certification Of Rent Paid 2011 Schedule RNT Step 1: At the top of the page, enter your first and last name, your Social Security number, and the rental period this application concerns. Complete a separate schedule RNT for every residence for which you paid rent.
Kansas Certification Of Rent Paid 2011 Schedule RNT Step 2: Enter the address of the property, the name of the landlord or property owner, their mailing address and their telephone number.

Kansas Certification Of Rent Paid 2011 Schedule RNT Step 4: On line one, indicate whether the rental property you live on is subject to property tax. On line two, enter the total rent you paid for the period listed above. Do not include any deposits or rent owed.
Kansas Certification Of Rent Paid 2011 Schedule RNT Step 5: Complete the worksheet at the bottom of the first page. Enter the number of months you rented all items along with your property. Multiply this by the set values of each item, such as washers, dryers, furniture and laundry.

Kansas Certification Of Rent Paid 2011 Schedule RNT Step 8: If you are a nursing or boarding home resident, multiply line two by .25. Enter the result on line four. Otherwise, subtract line three from line two and enter the result on line four.
