INSTRUCTIONS: VERMONT COMPLAINT FOR DIVORCE WITH KIDS (Form 836)

 

 

You may represent yourself in Vermont family court if filing for divorce against a spouse and your marriage involves minor children. This form 836 is found on the website of the Vermont Judiciary.

 

Vermont Complaint For Divorce With Kids 836 Step 1: At the top of the page, which is the summons form your spouse will be served with, enter the unit number of the court you are appearing in. Give all contact information about both parties where requested.

 

Vermont Complaint For Divorce With Kids 836 Step 2: Enter the name of your spouse above "defendant." Enter your name above "plaintiff."

 

Vermont Complaint For Divorce With Kids 836 Step 3: Enter the address of the family court you are appearing in on line six. The clerk court will sign this summons form.

 

Vermont Complaint For Divorce With Kids 836 Step 4: The next page contains your actual complaint for divorce. Question one asks the county and state in which both spouses currently live.

Vermont Complaint For Divorce With Kids 836 Step 12: Under "Request for relief," indicate your wishes regarding custody and other child-related issues, as well as division of property, payment of court costs and alimony. Also note if you wish for your premarital name to be restored.
