INSTRUCTIONS: WASHINGTON D.C. NOTICE OF PETITION FOR STANDARD PROBATE

 

 

The form discussed in this article is used to give notice of a petition filed for standard probate of the estate of someone who died on or after January 1, 1981 but no later than June 30, 1995. This document can be obtained from the website maintained by the District of Columbia Courts system.

 

Washington D.C. Notice Of Petition For Standard Probate Step 1: On the first blank line, enter the name of the decedent whose estate is concerned.

 

Washington D.C. Notice Of Petition For Standard Probate Step 2: On the next blank line, enter the name of the person who filed a petition for standard probate. The remainder of this paragraph  states that the court will take the action petitioned for unless a complaint is filed in the court within 30 days of the first publication of notice. 

 

Washington D.C. Notice Of Petition For Standard Probate Step 3: The next paragraph states that the court will enter an order admitting a will to probate upon proof satisfactory to the court of due execution by affidavit of witnesses of the will.

Washington D.C. Notice Of Petition For Standard Probate Step 5: On the next two blank lines, detail the newspapers in which this petition was published.
