The document discussed in this article is completed to admit a will to probate as part of the process of administering a will. By signing this document, the probate court is stating that the purported will of the decedent complies with the applicable law, either on its face or from testimony of witnesses. This document can be obtained from the website maintained by the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Ohio Judicial System.

 

Ohio Entry Admitting Will To Probate 2.3 Step 1: Enter the name of the county in which the probate court overseeing administration of the estate is located on the first blank line.

 

Ohio Entry Admitting Will To Probate 2.3 Step 2: Enter the name of the decedent whose estate is being administered on the second blank line.

Ohio Entry Admitting Will To Probate 2.3 Step 7: Upon this form's being signed by a probate judge, the administrator of the estate will be required to give notice of the probate to all parties who are entitled to notice. This is done using form 2.2, which must be sent to all parties listed on form 1.0 (Surviving Spouse, Next of Kin, Legatees and Devisees). You must receive either a certified mail notice of receipt in return or form 2.1, a waiver of notice of probate of will. If the certified mail notice is used, present it along with a copy of each notice that was sent to the magistrate of the court. After all receipts or waivers have been received, you should complete form 2.3, which is a Certification of Service of Notice of Probate of Will.
