INSTRUCTIONS: CONNECTICUT ESTATE AND GIFT TAX RETURN (Form CT-706/709)
To document and pay the estate and gift tax due following the death of Connecticut residents and non-residents who died there, use a form CT-706/709. This form is also used to document tax due on gifts made by those still living. This form is found on the website of the government of Connecticut. This article discusses the form made available for tax year 2011.
Connecticut Estate And Gift Tax Return CT-706/709 Step 1: At the top of the form, give the donor or decedent's name, Social Security number, federal employer identification number if applicable, and address.

You must also document gifts from prior period in Schedule B on the third page, compute the estate tax deduction in Schedule C, and compute the estate tax credits in Schedule D.
