INSTRUCTIONS: NEBRASKA PERSONAL PROPERTY RETURN NET BOOK VALUE

 

Nebraska residents who own any depreciable tangible personal property other than licensed motor vehicles, certain rental equipment and livestock are required to complete the state's personal property return net book value on an annual basis. This form can be found on the website of the city of Lancaster among other places.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 1: Enter the tax year you are filing in and the county in which you are filing in the top right corner of the first page.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 2: Enter the name, telephone number and tax district of the property owner.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 3: Enter your street or mailing address. If the property is located at another location, give this address as well.

Specify whether you are completing a schedule for commercial and industrial property or for agricultural machinery and equipment. Give your name as shown on your Nebraska tax return and the year for which you are completing this form.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 6: For every applicable piece of personal property, give its name or description, the year of purchase, the number of items, its state adjusted value, the recovery period, the depreciation factor and its net taxable value rounded to the whole dollar.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 7: On line one of the first page, transfer the total value of commercial and industrial property from the schedule if applicable. If completing this form for agricultural machinery and equipment, transfer this value from the schedule and enter it in line two.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 8: Add lines one and two to determine the total taxable value on line three.

 

Nebraska Personal Property Return Net Book Value Step 9: Below this, describe any leased or consigned personal property in your possession. Give the name and address of the owner.
