INSTRUCTIONS: MONTANA PURCHASE INCENTIVE RENTAL AGREEMENT REPORTING FORM

 

Montana dealerships of farm or construction equipment must file a quarterly Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form to receive tax exemptions on this equipment. To qualify, the equipment in question must be owned by your farm implement or construction equipment business, held for sale at a later date, and rented to a single user as an incentive for eventual purchase. The equipment is not qualified for exemption if it is rented to one person in excess of nine months, is rented more than once to the same person, or is not owned by a farm implement or construction equipment company. The form can be found on the website of the Montana Department of Revenue.

 

Montana Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form Step 1: At the top of the page, enter the name of the dealer.

 

Montana Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form Step 2: Enter the Federal Employment Identification Number (FEIN) of the dealer.

 

Montana Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form Step 3: Give the address of the dealership, including the street address, city, state and zip code.

Montana Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form Step 5: Enter the date of the end of the quarter for which you are filing. If filing for the quarter ending March 31, you must file by April 15. If filing for the quarter ending June 30, you must file by August 15. If filing for the quarter ending September 30, you must file by October 15. If filing for the quarter ending December 31, you must file by January 15.

 

Montana Purchase Incentive Rental Agreement Reporting Form Step 6: For each piece of equipment, give a description, the year in which it was new, the make and model, the county and location,  the date the rental began, the date of the end of the rental, and the name of the renter.
