INSTRUCTIONS: ALABAMA IN-SERVICE TRANSFER TO PURCHASE PERMISSIVE SERVICE CREDIT (Form RSA-1 PURSVC)
Alabama public employees enrolled in either the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) or the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) can use a form RSA-1 PURSVC to transfer funds from their RSA-1 Deferred Compensation Plan to another retirement system for the purposes of purchasing permissive service credit. Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 1: Indicate with a check mark whether you are enrolled in the ERS or TRS.
Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 2: In the first section, enter your name, Social Security number, home address, phone number, employer name and date of birth.
Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 3: On the first blank line of Part II, enter the name of the retirement system to wish you wish for funds to be transferred.

Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 5: On the third blank line, enter the retirement system's city, state and zip code.

Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 7: On the first blank line of Part III, enter the total dollar amount you wish to have transferred from your RSA-1 account.
Alabama In-Service Transfer To Purchase Permissive Service Credit RSA-1 PURSVC Step 8: Indicate with check marks whether you want this amount to be transferred from your RSA-1 or Transfer fixed or stock accounts. Indicate what dollar amount you wish to come from each account.
