INSTRUCTIONS: ALABAMA CERTIFICATE OF REDEMPTION (Form ADV-LD-10)

 

In cases where Alabama property with unpaid taxes or other debts are sold to another party whose sale includes funds to pay these debts, a certificate of redemption will be issued by the tax collector or revenue commissioner of the county in which the transaction took place. The form can be found on the website of the Alabama Department of Revenue. 

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 1: At the top left-hand corner of the page, the tax collector or revenue commissioner will enter the county code number and sequence number assigned to this transaction.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 2: The name of the county will be entered on the right and again below in the next blank.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 3: Below this, information about the sales docket number assigned to the property will be entered.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 4: The date this form is being completed will be entered in the first blanks of the paragraph below this.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 5: The tax collector or revenue commissioner will enter their name.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 6: The name of the purchaser will be entered in the next blank.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 7: The name of the person making the application will be entered in the next blank.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 8: The tax collector or revenue commissioner will enter their name in the first blank of the second paragraph.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 9: The name of the county will be entered again in the next blank.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 10: The date and dollar amount deposited for the sale will be entered in the next blanks.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 11: A legal description of the real estate in question will be written on the blank lines concluding the second paragraph, as well as the county name.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 12: On the bottom left, the official will enter the purchase money, the interest, subsequent taxes assessed and the cost of the certificate of redemption.

 

Alabama Certificate Of Redemption ADV-LD-10 Step 13: The tax collector or revenue commissioner will sign and date the form along with the county treasurer.
