INSTRUCTIONS: LOUISIANA CORPORATION INCOME AND FRANCHISE TAX RETURN (Form CIFT-620)

 

 

Corporations operating in Louisiana can use a form CIFT-620 in order to file their income and franchise taxes owed to the state. The document can be obtained from the website of the Louisiana Department of Revenue. 

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 1: At the top righthand corner, give your corporation's legal and trade names, address, city, state and zip code.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 2: Fill in the oval next to the applicable statements if filing a return to document a name change, filing an amended return, if you are not required to pay franchise tax, or if you are a first time filer.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 3: Enter all information requested on lines A through J.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 4: To complete lines 1A through 6 on the first page, you will first need to complete Schedule E on the seventh page, schedule NRC on the third page, and Schedule I on the eighth page.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 5: Compute your franchise tax as directed on lines 7A through 13. You will first need to complete Schedule NRC on the third page.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 6: Follow directions on lines 14 through 25 to compute your total amount due. You will first need to complete Schedule RC on the third page.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 7: At the bottom of the second page, an officer should print and sign their name. The officer should also provide their title, a telephone number and the date.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 8: Any paid preparer should sign the form, print their firm name, and give their telephone number and the date.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 9: All corporations should complete the section labeled "Additional Information Required," located on the eighth page.

 

Louisiana Corporation Income And Franchise Tax Return CIFT-620 Step 10: All applicable schedules should be completed and submitted with your form. In addition to those noted above, these include Schedule A, documenting your balance sheet.
