INSTRUCTIONS: PENNSYLVANIA APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE (Form REV-276)
Pennsylvania taxpayers who have not applied for or been granted a federal extension for the time to file their return can use a form REV-276 in order to apply for an extension to file their state tax return. Unless a foreign resident, you will generally be granted an extension lasting no longer than six months. You are not required to submit a payment along with this application but may do so.
Pennsylvania Application For Extension Of Time To File REV-276 Step 1: Enter the first two letters of the last name if you are filing for an extension of PA-40 form. Those seeking an extension for other tax forms concerning trust funds, estates and other entities, leave this space blank and enter this name where indicated below. Give your Social Security number, as well as that of your spouse if applicable. Enter a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) if applicable.

Enter the full dates for the beginning and end of the year for which you are seeking an extension. Indicate by filling in the appropriate oval if you have previously been granted an extension.
