INSTRUCTIONS: ARKANSAS REFUND CLAIM SECTION 2
To claim a refund of Arkansas state or local sales or use tax paid in error, a refund claim may be filed with the state Department of Finance and Administration. Section 1 gives information about the claimant, while Section 2 details the sales for which a refund is being found. This document can be found on the website maintained by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. This form can be filled out by either the purchaser or the vendor.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 1: Enter the claimant's name where indicated.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 2: In column 1, enter the date of the invoice.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 3: In column 2, enter the name of the vendor.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 4: In column 3, enter the invoice number.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 5: In column 4, enter a description of the item purchased.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 6: In column 5, enter how the product will be used or the basis for the exemption claimed. Simply writing the statute or rule number is not considered a sufficient response.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 7: In column 6, enter the price before tax.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 8: In column 7, enter the Arkansas state tax.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 9: In column 8, enter the county tax.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 10: In column 9, enter the city tax.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 11: In column 10, enter the county name.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 12: In column 11, enter the city name.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 13: In column 12, enter the month and year on which the tax was remitted to the state.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 14: If you are listing less than 25 lines' worth of invoices, you may submit this refund claim in paper form. Otherwise, you are required to submit it as a spreadsheet as an Excel document.
Arkansas Refund Claim Section 2 Step 15: When submitting this claim for refund, copies of all voices documented in Section 2 must be included, as well as all additional documentation that will help facilitate verification of your claim.
